SHOW JUMPING is a sport that reaches millions of people through
television and the media, the large county shows and the participation,
either directly or indirectly, of a wide range of individuals
competing on horses of varying ability. It is a sport
enjoyed by the horse enthusiast, the professional, and those
who have never been on or near a horse in their lives. The
appeal is wide and far-reaching. Competitors of all ages
and of varying abilities now compete in show jumping competitions
all over the country - competitions administered by the British
Show Jumping Association. The Association's head office
is based at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire from where a permanent
staff of 28 work.
British Show Jumping affiliate over 2,250 shows, providing over
3,000 days of show jumping per year. Shows range from regular
weekly meetings staging a range of preliminary rounds and qualifiers
right through to the prestigious televised meetings at the Hickstead
Derby, the Royal International Horse Show, the BSJA Festival
and the Horse of the Year Show to name but a few. Throughout
the summer season, show jumping competitions are also scheduled
as main and grand ring attractions on the county show circuit
and command audiences of over 90,000 spectators.
The Association can offer a wide range of sponsorship opportunities,
from support on a local or regional basis, right through to high
profile televised events held in the UK. The sport can
offer first class venues hosting competitions which offer excellent
corporate hospitality facilities.
Sponsorship has now matured into a much valued weapon in the
marketer's armoury, so much so it is being combined with other
forms to make integrated marketing campaigns. Communication
is one of the sports tools and offers sponsoring companies many
opportunities to ‘talk’ directly to their target
market. With packages ranging from £5,000 through to perhaps
the title sponsorship of the British Show Jumping Team now has
never been a better time to invest.
