To register a horse or pony for the first time you will have to complete an Initial Registration Form.
In order for registration to be accepted it is necessary that you enclose an original identification sketch for you horse or pony. Identification sketches must include a written description of the horse/pony and the sketch must show a minimum of five distinguishing features. It is a mandatory requirement to show any brand mark, freeze mark or micro chip No: The identification document must be completed by a veterinary surgeon or BSJA identification panelist. Identification documents include breed society papers/passports, flu vaccination certificates, Joint Measurement Board Documents and FEI passports. If breeding papers are held please forward original documentation for overstamping by the BSJA office. In order to compete in age classes original breeding papers must be sent.
To help you obtain identification documentation without the need to consult your veterinary surgeon, the BSJA has set up an identification panel who are authorised to prepare an identification sketch card for the purpose of registration. Once the identification panel member has completed the sketch card he/she will forward it to the BSJA office on your behalf along with your registration forms. Contact details of all panelists are available from the BSJA offices or your Area Representative.
Please allow five working days for your applications to be processed. |
